The Arc’s accounting and finance intern is a self-motivated, highly accurate individual who can assist the organization’s financial management and insure its financial integrity.

The finance and accounting intern is responsible for supporting the Accounting Manager on a variety of projects and tasks.


· Work in Microsoft Dynamics accounting software

· Complete month-end journal entries and compile necessary reports

· Reconcile balance sheet accounts

· Assist with accounts payable

· Prepare cost study or cost-benefit analysis of thrift ideas to maximize productivity and efficiency

· Analyze company contracts ansiness practices; make recommendations to minimize expenses
· Implement systems to minimize expense

· Assist with budgeting activities

· Review document retention policy in compliance with best practices; make improvement recommendations

· Review stored documents in line with updated policy

· Analyze asset inventory management; make recommendations to improve systems

· Filing, organizing, auditing and other accounting department tasks as necessary

· Excellent interpersonal skills; respects all cultures, people and work styles

· Ability to demonstrate initiative, work autonomously and multi-task

· Must possess excellent attention to detail and be timely in task completion

· Reliable, flexible, detail oriented and open to feedback

· Proficient in Excel with knowledge of Microsoft office suite

· Outstanding organizational, time management, problem solving and project management skills required along with proficient computer skills

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow a project through to completion
