We’ve got all sorts of toys, gifts, costumes, games and shirts on our sites but we want to give the people what they want – which is more of everything!

That’s where you come in! Our Assistant Buyers help out the rest of the product team in making informed decisions for product lines to continue to carry based on internal and external data – plus a bit of gut instinct in figuring out what future trends might captivate the consuming public. Of course, that’s just part of the job – it just happens to be the most exciting part, which is why it leads this ad.

In addition to sorting through tons of data and research, you will be mainly working on replenishment orders for our 60,000+ unique SKUs, working out pricing on items, creating POs for replenishment stock, helping out with product features for display on our homepages and in our customer-facing emails and dealing with reports. Lots of reports. That means that the perfect candidate for this job definitely needs to be familiar with Excel and is willing to put on some headphones and crank through the data.

Job duties and responsibilities:
• Make informed decisions regarding pricing, vendors and new product selection
• Adjust retail prices to maximize profit based on sell-through and wholesale pricing data
• Decide on replenishment quantities for items already in stock
• Work with multiple departments to feature products on homepage and email marketing campaigns
• Research competition and compile reports allowing team decisions to be made on selection, pricing and quantities
• Create and track status of purchase orders
• Perform data entry tasks
• Other duties as assigned
Basic qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and the rest of the Microsoft Office Suite. But mostly Excel
• Ability to make informed decisions quickly, based on collected data
• Exceedingly detailed and organized
• Preference for working independently, but still function well in a team environment
• Love to work with large sets of data
• Effective at communicating new ideas
• Desire for continuous change and innovation
• Willingness to travel to trade shows as needed throughout the year
Preferred qualifications:
• B.A. or B.S. in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Chemistry, Mathematics, or other numbers-heavy analytical discipline
• Previous inventory management and/or retail experience
• Ridiculous amounts of pop-cultural knowledge – the geekier the better!
• Basic knowledge of fashion design and design principles to help better inform decisions regarding costume and T-shirt purchases
